10:22 p.m. - Saturday, Aug. 02, 2003 I received some more Matt Damon movies and have been goin' wild watchin' them again and again. I now have three books about his life which seem to get better with each new book. They all have basically the same information, but there are some facts in each one that the others don't have so I am glad I got them. Plus the photos of Matt in them are specatacular! I got one of them today. It's entitled: "Matt Damon--Chasing a Dream" and wow! it has some very interesting facts in it. I"ve only read a couple of places but I have new facts about Matt already. If I repeat myself, I'm sorry....lol, no, not really. I love to talk about Matt. He's a darlin'! There's not much happenin' in my life at the moment to write about except for my Matt obsession, so at least this is better 'n nothin'. Fact: Matt made himself go on a strict diet to lose 40 pounds for a movie, "Courage Under Fire". He portrayed a dug-addicted GI in the Gulf War. The diet he put himself on nearly killed him. He got down to 2% body fat and the doctor told him later that he was lucky his heart hadn't shrunk. He was actually borderline anorexic by the time he'd stopped dieting. His adrenal glands became all messed up and Matt still has trouble to this day with his blood sugar. Bless his heart. He was quoted as saying that when he was on his near starvation diet that he would rinse his mouth out after kissing his girlfriend because he could taste the oil from foods that she'd eaten. He was on a completely fat-free diet. That is so wild! I have rented the first movie that Matt was ever in. It is "Mystic Pizza" with Julia Roberts. I was surprised because the movie is actually good. Even if it didn't have Matt in it, it would be just a really good movie. Matt only had one line in the movie: "Do you want my green stuff?! Whoa! Did Matt ever look very, very young. I guess 'cause he was young. Let me figure this out. Matt was born in 1970 and "Mystic Pizza" was made in 1988. So he was only 18 in that. Of course in the movie he looked about 15 or 16. He will be 33 on October 8 this year. Yes, that movie was made fifteen years ago. Matt keeps gettin' better lookin' all the time. And another fact: For his last released movie, "The Bourne Identity" Matt made $10 MILLION dollars!! Whoa, baby! That's a heck of a lot of $1 bills. I havn't seen D in quite some time. He's busy with getting ready to go back to college. His life is so full of things to do that it tires me out just thinkin' about it. Hopefully he will have a bit more time after school starts. I miss him a lot. It's very dark outside as I type and the rain is beating all around the house. I thought I might have to turn the computer off because of the lightnin', but not so far. I love the sound of rain hitting the windows and the roof. But I don't like to hurt physically from the dampness. I think this has been the wettest year we've had in this state in a long time. First we had all that snowfall (I got snowed in you might recall) and now we have rain--too much rain for me. The repair work bein' done on the house is now complete. I feel safe from critters and the house looks really good. I think I will stay just a little longer and not put it up for sale right away. Perhaps now that I don't have critter problems anymore I may decide to stay on here another year, but definitely no longer. I really need a change and I need to be nearer to my family. Then again, I may sell it and just get on out right away. Once before about a year ago I seriously thought of selling the house and even had a buyer lined up and then I changed my mind and decided not to sell. It's hard to let go sometimes after I have become attached to something. I will tell on myself here. I think it's funny. I love to be able to laugh at myself now and then. I am the kind of person who tries to figure out how to work things without having to read the manual. I have an Apex DVD Player and I was always disgusted because I couldn't figure out how to get the remote to move the curser to different menu items. I've been tryin' for the longest to try to figure out what to do. The curser always just stayed on "play" and I pushed every button on the stupid contraption. Finally I just sort of thought I had a defective remote or player. Until yesterday. I purchased "American Pie". That's the movie with Jason Biggs. The one that the sequel "American Wedding" is about that is showing now at theatres. The one where Jim (Jason) does a no-no to the apple pie. Yep, that's the one. Anyhow. I wanted to see the extra features that were included on the dvd, like out-takes and commentary. Once again I tried every darn button on the remote. There's nothing on the player itself but start, stop, play, fast forward or rewind. So it had to be done with the remote. Anyhow, I finally gave up tryin' to "think for myself" and went to where I keep various manuals and dug around until I found the one for Apex. Even though I'd hit the shift button on the remote a zillion times while trying to figure it out, I must not have ever hit the arrows at the same time (DUH!). The manual made it sound so simple: Push the shift button, then push the directional arrow buttons. So yesterday I learned two important lessons. One: How to get the curser to move so I can enjoy more of the features on Matt's dvds. And two: Make it easy on myself and READ THE STUPID MANUAL FIRST!!! Hahahahahahaha!
