School Bus Accident
I boiled some eggs to make egg salad. I thought I would like to have some of that today. I listened to the television interrupt the regularly scheduled program to tell about a local school bus accident in the Nashville area. Most of the children are only fine. Only one child had been hurt badly.

The child was hurt when the school bus she was riding in was hit by a truck that was travelin' too fast. The girl is in critical condition. The driver of the truck, a man, is in critical but stable condition. Both are in Vanderbilt Hospital. The news reported that the young elementary age girl was thrown forward on impact from her seat in the third row and hit something which was not specifically stated by the news.

I found myself wonderin' why the seat belt laws don't apply to school buses? It doesn't make sense for parents to try to keep their child safe by the use of seat belts in their personal vehicles only to have that child injured or killed in a school bus accident like this one because the child had no seatbelt on. I wonder how many other people wondered the same thing today as they watched their tvs.

Seems that I made at least one person from a Matt Damon message board upset with me because of the title of the URL from yesterday's entry in Belle's Journal. I had to go back, delete the entry, and put it back in with a different URL. At first I had used the words "yankeematt" in the URL and the fan felt offended by the use of the term "Yankee" by a Southerner.

Actually the "yankee" part had to do with a remark someone made to me about my fascination with a gentleman who is not from the South. It wasn't an unkind statement, just a joke aimed at me personally in fun because I make such a fuss over our Southern gentlemen all the time. The remark made was that, due to all my gushin' over Southern men, it was hard to believe that I personally am now intrigued by a gentleman not from the South. It wasn't aimed at Matt personally. Later I decided to remove that part of the entry because I didn't think I'd explained it properly, but I didn't change the URL title. Now the URL is renamed to a less offensive "Matt33".

Let me just state for the record here that I may write about bein' Southern, and my deep admiration for Southern men but I'm not prejudiced against anyone from the North, East, or West. I am proud to be an American and love all Americans no matter what part of the USA they're from. In Belle's book men are men and they're all extremely attractive and fascinatin' no matter where they live.

Isn't that something about Kobe Bryant's lawyer? It's always interestin' to me how that men accused of rape seem to always go for women lawyers. And then that woman tries to tear apart another woman's integrity in her attempts to prove him innocent. Makes my skin crawl. The woman told him "no" twice and he still raped her and now tries to say it was consentual sex. I have no sympathy for the man. And I have no respect for his lawyer who would defend this man by attackin' his victim.

It's my personal opinion only that Bryant needs to be made an example of what sports players can expect when they break the law. They shouldn't be able to get away with their crimes just because they're celebrities and have money. But that's what they do. It's not the first time and most likely won't be the last time.

There have been movies about this very thing, showin' how rich guys can buy their way out of rape trials or even out of bein' accused of the crime. But what's even worse is that, not all men, but some men seem to think that's as it should be. They seem to delight in the fact that a man can violate a woman and get away with it because he's a sports celebrity. Look at O.J. Simpson...

Actually, I'd rather look at Matt Damon, lol. This guy is a good example of what a celebrity should be. He doesn't go around raping women. He's not affected by all the media attention. He's down to earth and doesn't think he's better than he is. Matt's a sweetie.

Felicity sent me a copy of the photo of Matt that I had written about yesterday. Thank you, Felicity. I love that photo. She told me that I could use it on my journal.

From Ebay this week I purchased a key chain with one of my favorite photos of Matt on it on both the front and back. I'm excited to get it. That way I can take Matt with me wherever I go, hahaha. I am considerin' beginnin' to purchase some back copies of magaziness that have articles in them about Matt that are bein' offered on Ebay now, like "Talk Magic Magazine" which ran the photo of Matt below.
