Deserted Island
I am quite excited today. I got a refund from the IRS. I had overpaid my taxes. I thought maybe that was the case since it came to so much more than I'd ever paid out before. I had someone do my taxes for me. Well, it's good to know that the IRS is honest.

Last week the news revealed that the head of the CIA had resigned. I suppose it was due to the fact of President Bush laying the blame at the door of the CIA for incorrect information which led him to create out of thin air nearly the war with Iraq. These are my thoughts on the matter, not a quote from the news. The polls show that President Bush's popularity has dropped (on last count last week) down to 66% of Americans still having faith in him to lead our country well. So my mind says that President Bush had to do something to take the heat off of himself. Hence he shifted the blame for the war with Iraq to the CIA and the head of that department resigned.

I have been reading a lot of spy novels lately since becoming enamoured with "The Bourne Identity" and the news last week sounded to me just like a plot out of one of Mr. Robert Ludlum's spy novels. And I can't help but wonder if Mr. Bush isn't reading the novels himself to have come up with this idea? Interesting. Anyhow, before I get myself into a word war with some of Mr. Bush's hard core supporters, I think I will stop here with this. I'm not an expert on politics. In fact, I very seldom know much of what is taking place in that world. All I'm saying is the whole thing rings odd to me.

Last night I took a sleeping pill that didn't seem to be working too well, so I took two Excedrin PMs and all day today I've been hung over with drowsiness. I think I could stand a nap right now. But if I do that I may not be able to sleep tonight for certain.

On D's group this week, we had an interesting question posed to us. If you were to be stranded on a deserted island for a couple of months and you could choose to have any two things of your choice to have on the island with you what would they be? After much thought myfirst choice turned out to be Matt Damon because I wanted someone to talk with who would be intelligent and good looking. And my second choice was to have a water tower filled with wine. Here's what I posted on the group:

Ok. I did some thinking about the second thing that I would want to take along on a deserted island with me. It was hard to do. There are so many things to choose from. But I managed to finally pick one thing. And since there was no limit on how much of the each thing, as far as I know, I decided on this:

A water tower filled with wine. Hahahaha! Here's my reasoning. Wine has alcohol, of course, so it could be used in many ways.

1. Most obviously, it's romantic, lol. And with Matt....well....

2. It could be medicinal. It could be used to pour on cuts maybe, like regular alcohol, to fight infection from bug bites to burns, etc.

3. To make a fire. A little alcohol will help a fire along if poured onto a stick or other wood.

4. It's a calmative for those first few moments when I first realize I'm on deserted island before I realize that I do really have Matt there, lol.

5. It can be used to cook in like over fish that Matt and I might have to spear out of the water.

6. It could be a welcome break from coconut juice.

There are probably more benefits of having a water tower full of wine, but this will do for now.
