Am I Impressed?
Today I have signed up for Online Banking with my bank. Now I can pay all my bills with online bill pay and even get my monthly statements online. Pretty soon all the mail carrier will be delivering will be junk mail and I think there is something to prevent even that now. The poor mail carriers will be hurting badly if many people begin using this service. This will be great for me to use, however, especially in the winter. I am very impressed because not only is this fast but it's free too. And it wasn't hard at all to set up, even the bill payments list was easy. Now a week before the payments are due all I do is click the name of the payee I want to send a payment to, fill in the amount to pay, and let 'er rip! Now THIS is impressive to Belle!
I have only a couple of weeks ago discovered that I can do a lot of shopping online at Walmart and Walgreen's and even groceries. Then they will ship it for free with a minimum order of $50 and UPS brings it right to the front door. Throw in a dairy delivery to the house once a week. Just about anything can be purchased online now. And I have PayPal for Amazon and Ebay. Shooooot. This is a recluse's dream come true. I may have to make sure someone checks on me now and then to be sure I'm still alive 'cause I'll never have to leave home again, hahahaha.
I've received a very nice post card from my friend H in Finland. She is vacationing and the post card is postmarked from Suomi, Finland. It has a beautiful scenery picture on the front that is of an inlet or bay perhaps with green trees and rocks all around. Simply beautiful. I love those kinds of scenes. H is very sweet about sendin' me post cards with scenery. I am so grateful. I love to see the things she is seeing too. I have spoken with H several times on overseas calls back and forth to each other. I was really surprised at how cheap an overseas call is. I can talk on the phone half an hour to H in Finland for a little bit of nothin', around $15. Thanks for the card, my friend. H reads Belle's Journal also to keep up with me, especially if I haven't emailed her in awhile. This is mainly what I wanted the diary for. It's an easy way to let a lot of people know at one time what I've been doin'.
We had a huge electrical storm here Monday night. The lightning was unbelievable. It was all streaky and awful lookin'. And it all started up after 10 PM. All at once, without warnin', it was happenin' and like to have scared me to death. I powered down the computer because the lightnin' was so bad. The lights in the house flickered a few times but never totally went out. A friend of mine from Cookville, Tennessee called in the middle of the storm to ask if I was ok. She'd heard on the news that a marina near to me had caved in and some people were trapped. I didn't turn on the tv so I really don't know and can't tell anything more about it than what I was told. Finally it all eased up around midnight and I went to bed, but I couldn't sleep well. This has really been one wild year, all the snow in the winter and now all this rain and storms in the summer. Whoo! I will be glad if it all begins to ease up some. No wonder my legs ache all the time. All this dampness is killlin' me!
I received my other copy of "Good Will Hunting" on dvd from Amazon and this one works fine and doesn't have the skips and hangs the other one had. So I am happy now and relieved to know it was the dvd and not the movie that had those mistakes. Whew! I also ordered the screenplay for GWH. The introduction in the front of that was written by Gus Van Sant, who directed GWH. Interesting. Mr. Van Sant told about Matt Damon not likin' to drive, but no information as to why was given. He said that neither Ben Affleck nor Matt like to fly so they travel across country by car mostly together. He said that Matt had a dreadful time keepin' the car straight when he drove it at the end of the movie. Interesting--to me anyhow. It may not be of that much interest to anyone else. Bless Matt's sweet heart. He has some problems like all of us at times. No wonder he stays so down to earth. I love that guy!!! He is precious!
I like Ben pretty well too, but not as well as Matt. I appreciate that he and Matt are such good friends since childhood. That's impressive to Belle. I don't know much about Jennifer Lopez, Ben's girlfriend, soon-to-be wife, so I shouldn't say this....but I will. There's definitely somethin' about that woman which sets my teeth on edge. Do you ever see actors or singers that you just want to slap the livin' daylights out of for no reason at all? JLo is one of those performers for me. Just lookin' at the woman grates on my nerves severly and I haven't ever heard her sing yet. Don't plan to either. All this talk about her big rear-end just drives me crazy. The woman seems to have no shame. Doesn't she ever wear a non-revealin' outfit? Every time I see photos of JLo there is flesh either in the front or the back--or both-- stickin' out of her clothin'. Sorry about this fans of JLo, but to me the woman dresses terribly. And evidently I'm not the only one who thinks that way because I read in some magazine that even Ben told her nearly the same thing, that she looked cheap and needed to try to dress better. GO BEN!!!
I know. Matt's had his problems with women too. Look at all the ladies he's been been with. But at least I can call them ladies in the sense that they don't prance around half naked all the time. They at least keep most of their body parts covered in public and haven't made attempts to break up a lastin' friendship for Matt. Now maybe men don't mind all of JLo's body parts hangin' out for all the world to see, but to me it looks disgustin'. And don't EVEN get me goin' on all the money she throws away. HUH! A thousand dollars for a dog-sitter. Makes my stomach turn over to hear about it. The last thing I'd think anyone would want to publicize would be all the money she's trashin' on a dog when humans are goin' hungry. Shame on JLo!!! Belle is anything BUT impressed.
