7:22 p.m. - Wednesday, Sept. 03, 2003 I want to thank my friend, Em, from Ryan Merriman's Message Board for supplyin' an answer to one of my questions about the movie in my Guestbook. I wondered if Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) might have an implant in his head that causes the headaches he speaks of with another of the agents who is dying in a field after bein' shot by Bourne. Here's what Em had to say: "Belle... the reason that Jason and the other agents share painful headaches is because of the drugs that are normally given to them so they can be the superior weapon they were created to be. *shrugs* It's supposedly from the book, though I've never read it. My dad has and he answered that same question for my mom and I when we were watching the movie. Always good to hear how you're doing. ~ Em" After readin' this information, I just finished re-watchin' TBI. I was stunned to hear the man in the field. When Jason asked the agent who Treadstone is, the man answered without saying exactly what it was that Treadstone had sent him "pills" and told him where to go, so Em's father is correct. Hmmm, I had not noticed the part about the pills until just a few moments ago before I began writin' this. But what kind of pills??? Many thanks, Em. Iappreciate that so much. I have to get that book! I have just checked with Amazon.com and they have Mr. Robert Ludlum's book. In fact, they have most if not all of his books, includin' the one that the next movie will be based on, "The Bourne Supremacy". If I buy "The Bourne Identity" and "The Bourne Supremacy" together, I can get the set for $15.98. Hopefully, I will be able to get both of those books by the end of the month. Tomorrow is September 4th--my birthday! No, a southern lady does not reveal her age, sorry, but I am over eighteen, lol. My family doesn't go all out for celebratin' birthdays. I will receive calls from my family to wish me happy birthday. That's about it. But I may do a little celebratin' later on with friends. I plan to visit with my mother in the mornin' and spend some time with her. Mama enjoys mysteries like me. "The Bourne Identity" went completely over her head however, hahaha. It did mine too until I'd watched it several times very closely. I've never read any of Mr. Ludlum's work so I had no idea what this movie was about before I saw it. Everyone seems to be kind of slow getting back into routine after the holiday. I'm kind of glad there won't be any more holidays now until Thanksgivin'. Holidays are too grindin' on my nerves with worrryin' about drunks bein' on the road drivin'. Today I made some bean patties. I found a recipe on the internet and had some fresh pinto beans that I'd fixed yesterday. You make them up sort of like salmon patties with corn meal, onion, and various seasonin's, like worchestire sauce, etc., and use beans in place of the salmon. Then they are fried on top of the stove in an oiled skillet. The patties were ok...but I'm not especially wild over them, hahaha. I think I won't bother makin' them again. I'm not too good at liking new recipes sometimes. I have a set kind of foods I enjoy and usually don't vary my menu much. So this was an experiment for me. One I don't care too much for, thank you. The rain has eased up a bit. I thought I might have to shut off the computer because the rain was comin' down so hard I was afraid that lightnin' would begin, but it didn't. I downloaded some music from Kaaza last night. I am tryin'to be careful with Kaaza. I have heard that sometimes things put on there contain viruses. And I read somethin' on my Comcast homepage about the sharers of music on the internet bein' gone after by the music industry. So I usually only download the older songs that, hopefully, are out of copyright. Sometimes I hear songs on movies and go searchin' for them. I found the song by Moby called "Extreme Ways" that plays at the end of "The Bourne Identity". That song seems to suit the movie really well if you listen to the words. I don't know how old that song is, but I hope it's safe to have downloaded it. Sometimes I hear songs played on tv commercials that sound really cool and I go searchin' for the music to see what the whole song sounds like. I found one by Roy Orbison that I heard part of on a commercial the other day. It's a country music song called "Anything You Want". I love that song. Of course, bein' from Nashville, I enjoy country music anyhow. That's what I was raised on. I do listen to light rock sometimes but I'm not too much into heavy rock sounds. I think the newer singers of country music are great. Like Billy Gilman, who was only thirteen when he cut his first country music cd. Country is gettin' upbeated kind of with the younger generation of singers comin' along. But the songs are still mostly about cheatin' husbands and cryin' wives. Those kind of songs seem to go over well with the drinkin' crowd since it's those kinds of problems that brought them to the bars to begin with, hahaha. I've never been to the Grand Ol' Opry in my life however. I have this aversion to crowds, so I just listen to the music on cd. I have seen the show on tv a time or two. I thought it was cool. I watch the country music station on cable tv sometimes. And I love to catch the Country Music Awards show each year. I don't suppose Matt listens to country, hahahaha. He's probably more into heavy rock music. But he must like light rock too. I notice that he incorporated the song "Afternoon Delight" into "Good Will Hunting". I downloaded that song off of Kaaza too by the way. No, I can't imagine Matt attendin' the Grand Ol' Opry. One of the girls had a compatibility test link on NMG and I took it for Ryan and Matt. I scored high with Ryan but downright low with Matt. So, I never had intentions of datin' the guy anyhow, lol. I can still enjoy his actin' skills though. Y'all come back again real soon now, y'hear?
