12:15 p.m. - Wednesday, Apr. 07, 2004 Usually a movie such as this is not one that I would choose to watch. I've never been a fan of movies that have such far fetched ideas unless it contained someone like Matt, Ben, Leo, or Val in it. But, even without one or more of my favorite actors, I found that I was captivated as the movie progressed and I don't know why. It was highly predictable and even made me talk back to it whenever someone did something really stupid that most people in their right minds wouldn't have done anyhow in real life. I find myself fussing at people in movies who do stupid things. It's like I feel the embarrassment that they evidently don't feel for themselves. So I fuss. I say things like: "You should've known that would happen, you idiot!" But even with the stupid human tricks in it, the movie really wasn't too bad. It held my interest up 'til the end anyhow. And the song at the end of the movie was a complete hoot! It was a version of "The Itsy Bitsy Spiker" but it had some additions to it. You'll have to see the movie to hear it, hahaha. I have been sleepin' better lately than I've slept in a long time. I don't know what's making the difference. Maybe I'm adjustin' to the bed finally. For such an expensive bed it sure isn't comfortable sometimes. I think it's the mattress. I think I ordered one too firm. I should have gotten a medium or even a soft. Too late now. But something has changed. Maybe the mattress is getting less firm since I've been sleepin' on it. It's beginnin' to look a lot like Springtime here in Tennessee. The trees are blossoming. The highs are in the mid seventies and the lows in the high fourties at night. Maybe that's one reason that I've been sleepin' better. It's been cooler and I've had the heat off so I burrow down beneath my blankets. Tennessee is about to begin crackin' down on big rig drivers who drive too fast on the Interstate. It's about time. There have been some terrible accidents involvin' those huge haulers here. I know they have dead lines to meet, but many of the drivers of those rigs also take drugs to stay awake and can potentially be plain dangerous. I've had to change lanes quickly at times to avoid being crunched by a big truck when it's driver decided to change lanes and didn't see me in his mirrors, I guess, or who just plain didn't care. Seems like here we've had more terribly bad accidents that involve the big trucks than any other driving accidents. I heard on the local news that Tennessee now has a law that will force big truck drivers to slow down or else. Go get 'em, Smokey!!! April 18. April 18. April 18. Remember that day. It's the Sunday night that the new season of "Queer As Folk" on Showtime begins, hahahaha. I love that program. The previews of the new season look awesome. Brian (Gale Harold) is going to be facing some challenges this year. He's going to be beginning his own advertising business plus he's going to begin this season with a medical condition that will make life difficult for him. I don't think it will be AIDS, because he's too involved with Justin and those two make the show work. And Justin (Randy Harrison) is going to become a crusader, at least for the first part of the season, when he and a gang of guys crack down on the gay bashers. I guess the gays become bashers themselves. Justin is going to have his hair cut really short too. Oh, that beautiful golden hair is going bye-bye! I hate that. Randy has such beautiful blonde hair and his long hair style suited him so well in the last three seasons. Randy is what drew me to this program to begin with when I spotted him while channel surfing one Sunday night. I don't think there will be a fifth season. There is too much talk on the QAF message boards saying that other sites are stating that Randy Harrison is wanting out of the show. Without him, it just wouldn't be the same. And the shocker is the rumor that the actor who plays the character of Michael or Mikey, as he's sometimes called, is hounding the show's producers to put him and Brian together as a couple. And if they do that I don't think I could stand it. Mike drives me crazy as is. If you're a fan of Hal Sparks (Mike), I'm sorry, but that's just my feeling on the matter. I cannot stand the character of Mike. He is too unbelievable, too whiney, and too clingy. I hope this new season will show some changes to Mike. He needs to grow up!! I have posted "Then" and "Now" pictures of Randy Harrison at the bottom of this entry. It took me awhile to figure out how to make the avatar, hahaha. I don't do it that often and it took a long time to relearn and I'll most likely forget it again by the time I need another one. I have lots to do and I need to get busy. It's already after noon. I have been piddlin' on this computer all mornin', checking email and reading message boards---aaarrrrrgh! It's amazin' how fast time flies when one is on a computer. I downloaded a new ebook by Mary Higgins Clark onto my palm reader too. It will only work on the small portable palm reader but not on my desktop palm reader. Hmmm...I guess they have it set up to do that to encourage people to buy the little portable organizer/reader. It's charged up now and ready to read for a few hours when I have the time. Today at 3 pm (if I don't forget it) "Armageddon" with Ben Affleck will be on FX. I want to see that. My all time favorite Ben Affleck movie so far is "The Sum of All Fears". He looks so handsome in it. Matt's movie, "Stuck On You" will be out soon. I can't wait to get the dvd.
