Well Again
Whew! I am finally over that stomach virus I came down with a couple of weeks ago. The virus just about killed me since I haven't had much real sickness in a few years. Other than aches and pains in my legs and battles with allergic reactions to food, this is the worst kind of sick I've been in a long time. How sick was I? Thank you for asking. I was so sick I could hardly crawl out of bed most days to check my email. But it's over now and I'm feeling normal again.

There have been some fantastic movies on cable. HBO is showin' "Catch Me If You Can" with Leonardo Dicaprio starring as the young man who, in his late teens, began impersonatin' people such as airlines pilots, a doctor, and a lawyer. I love this movie and I hope to get it taped this week. I've got to buy some more dvds and I have to be sure to get Philips brand because other brands won't work on this machine I have. Anyhow this movie was based on a true story. I think Leo did a fantastic job with the character. There is one scene with a close up shot of Leo looking down into the camera and I swear that shot makes him look exactly like Matt Damon. I love that scene! I would love to have seen how Matt would have done this movie.

Speakin' of Matt Damon. I ran across a cute web site that contains pictures and thoughts on Matt, among others. It's called "The Boyfriend of the Week" and it is just precious. This past week has been dedicated to Matt. Here is the link:

Boyfriend of the Week

I read through some of the past "boyfriend" articles. The boyfriends are all actors and/or singers by the way. Meg, the owner of the site, has some great articles and sometimes she gets funny too.

One week Meg did a boyfriend article on Gregory Smith, the actor in "Everwood" which I've spoken about here before. She was hilarious in that article, askin' the readers not to call 1-800-REPORT A PEDOPHILE because she was writing about Greg who is still a minor, hahahaha. I had to hold my sides on that one. A reader had sent her a request to do a write-up about Matt. She wrote that since she wasn't too familiar with Matt, she had to go out and rent some of his movies, but now she's hooked on him. She says she doesn't know how she missed him.

Meg also states that she doesn't care at all for Ben Affleck. I think that's a little sad. Poor Ben gets the shaft all the time. Personally, I think Ben is very attractive. And he's a very good actor when he gets a good role. I read something last week where I think Matt made the statement that most movies are offered to him now before Ben and that he's advised them to ask Ben on the movies that he couldn't do due to the time frame. I think it's nice that they are still looking out for each other.

From what I've read, however, Ben may be thinking of getting out of acting now and is leaning toward directing perhaps in the near future. I think all the adverse publicity over Ben and Jen has effected him greatly. I think Ben's become shy of the public. That's just my opinion. It would be bad to lose Ben from the acting scene. He's so attractive. But I only hope that things will improve for him now that he's no longer with Jennifer Lopez. I'm not going to try to point a finger at who did what to whom in that relationship. I just hope Ben decides to stay with acting awhile longer. And most of all I hope that the demand for Matt in movies will not slack off. I hope Matt is in movies for many, many years to come.

Another good movie I have come to love is "The Saint" with Val Kilmer. Val did an excellent job with his character. I have recorded that one already. I highly recommend this movie if you haven't seen it yet.

Ok. Back to me. I have the house all to myself again. My visitors are now gone. It seems strange to have all this quiet once more. I've been doing some house cleaning and trying to get things back in order. I'm glad that I'm feelin' better. It's fun to work around the house when I'm feelin' ok. I enjoy housework and organizing things neatly. I'm not a fanatic, but I do enjoy a clean and straightened up house. I don't like to worry about anyone coming to visit and finding things out of place.

I've also composed a short letter to thank Ryan Merriman for the call he made to me on President's Day last month. He is such a kind gentleman and very thoughtful. He is always so kind and generous to his fans, taking time to show us personal attention. That is the sweetest thing for him to do.

My friend, D, is sick now. He posted on his group that he has been sick all weekend. Sounds like he may very well have the virus I had. He's not in school today so I know by that he is definitely very sick. D is not one to just stay out of school without good reason. Bless his heart. I hope he will feel better very soon.

I have a couple of new mystery novels to read and I owe a few letters to friends which I need to work on. I'm beginnin' to feel tired a little bit, but nothing like when I had the virus. I think this is just due to havin' gotten up so early this mornin'. Tomorrow I am expectin' company and I need to prepare for that as well.
